Art, Lucy and a new diet

In following other blogs, I've found that I grow frustrated with those who post only every four or five days...Now, of course, I'm doing the same. I doubt anyone's reading at this point anyway, so it's not a real big deal...

Right now I'm working on a scarf for myself to wear to Artfest. It's a simple knit stitch, 15 stitches across with Modo Dea Prima Olive that I found at Michael's at 50% off. It's soft and has that fun fur thing going on...a little difficult to navigate, but I'm up for the challenge. Next I want to move on to a hat that I found in Knitting to Go. It looks simple enough, but I've never knit in the round. But I need to move on to bigger things...

I need to sit down with my art journal. I need to finish my Disney travel journal and I need to get moving on my Year of the Dog promo. (This I will post once it's finished and once I learn how to post pics!) Of course, the art studio is a total mess right now. We took my table out of there Christmas Eve to use in the dining room (it's a lovely table from Ikea) and I liked it so much we left it there. So the old dining table is in the studio, making much less of a work surface. And boxes EVERYWHERE! The whole room needs an overhaul. It's the least inspiring room in the house.

Took Lucy to the vet yesterday for her Rabies vaccine. I don't know how I did it, but I started blabbing to the doctor about how the treats Santa brought her smell way too good to be dog biscuits, so hubbie and I tried one. They WERE really good! Then I proceeded to tell him that her Trader Joe's peanut butter treats smell awesome when you first open the box...He started to look worried about my sanity. And I'm sure her treats explain why he felt she is overweight. Of course, we've been total slugs lately because of the flu and haven't been out walking every day. Last Friday we went for the first time in a couple of weeks and we were both SO winded by the time we got home.

For some reason, while Lucy got a "heavy" comment on her report card from the vet, I actually LOST weight between visits to my doc. I had gone in to see her in Nov., and just went in last week for a follow-up. The scale showed I lost seven pounds! HOW is that possible? I was SURE I had gained weight over the holidays, between the Christmas cookies, the incredible almond toffee from Tam, the yummy molasses cookies Mom made, and the daily Peppermint Mochas from Starbucks. When I expressed my surprise, the nurse said, "Wow, how did you do that?" I told her it had to be my Peppermint Mocha and Christmas cookie diet...Now I'm going to have to write a book... :-)
