{The Weekend Flew By}

Can’t believe it’s Monday already! The journaling weekend at The Paper Studio was awesome.

Img_0943 Friday night, Hubby and I met Cindy and Gary of The Paper Studio, Robin and Vynnie McDaniels, and Teesha and Tracy Moore for dinner and First Fridays in Phoenix. First Fridays is an art walk downtown that spreads far and wide. We saw some REALLY cool work.

Saturday night was the Meet the Artists reception and my niece brought a couple of her friends, and my friend Shelley came, too! There were also artists there that I’ve met at past workshops and retreats, so it was nice to catch up with them. So many people said so many sweet things about my journals. It was wonderful that they all showed up and crowded around the tables to turn the journal pages! When I left the house for the reception, I was feeling SO sick! I know I was panicked, I had a massive headache and just felt ill. Fortunately, that feeling subsided once the evening was about half over... :-)

Img_0955_2Sunday I took Tracy’s Chalkboard Journal class, which I really enjoyed. (I got to sit with Vynnie McDaniels, who is SO fun!) We learned the Coptic stitch, which I’ve never done. I’m seriously thinking of rebinding mine because I skipped a couple of the loops in the binding and I ran out of thread and had to add more...It seems OK and Tracy said it should be fine, but I know it wouldn’t hurt to do it again while the process is still fresh in my mind. And even though she’s super busy getting ready for Quilt Market, Renee came into town and we went to lunch. It was good to see her and chat with her for a while. She’s such a sweetheart!

All in all, it was a super fun weekend and I wouldn’t change a thing. I do need to go back into The Paper Studio sometime in the next week or so and get some photos of the displays so I can show you.

Today’s all about a cover for a children’s cookbook and working on my fabric charms for ArtFiberfest. I haven’t even started them...And I leave in a week and a half!

Have a GREAT Monday, everyone!
