Happy Saturday, all! Up bright and early, awaiting the start of the Michigan/Ohio State game...GO BLUE!
In the meantime, I wanted to discuss some goodies that came recently from Amazon...Many wonderful books out there right now:
Doodle-Stitching by Aimee Ray. I must give this a go. Of course, because it involves doodling, right? This book is filled with embroidery instruction for the beginner. I love how fresh the ideas are and it makes embroidery not stuffy, the way I remember it when I learned it many moons ago. I just want to run to Michaels and buy a TON of new embroidery thread. Hey, I bought that hoop a couple of weeks ago so I could finish my rug-hooked house from ArtFiberFest...Hmmm....Another way to indulge my love for doodling...We journal artists need other outlets, too!
Street Sketch Book: Inside the Journals of International Street and Graffiti Artists by Tristan Manco. One word: YUM. I really love this book. So many cool pages from sketchbooks of some rockin’ street artists. I’ve had this fascination lately with tattoo and graffiti art. Also, skateboard and surfboard art. Hey, it IS art! Any book that provides me a look into a sketchbook or journal of someone is on my list of cool books. Check this one out. You won’t be disappointed!
Stay tuned for more reviews sometime next week...
And I just want to give a huge shout-out to Comfortable Shoes Studio, Dagboekschrijven (Day Book Letter) Edited: Ooops, it means “Journaling”; Babelfish doesn't do a perfect job with translation :-), and ALL of you who’ve set up a link to D’Blogala on your blog...I so appreciate your support, kind words and lovely comments you leave! Without you, this blog wouldn’t be here, really. You are what keeps driving me to post the prompts, the progress on 1000 Artist Journal Pages, and ALL of it! I love you all!
Enjoy your weekend! And don’t forget to journal about your childhood home...
