{Art Journal Fridays: Holiday Junk Mail}

Happy Friday! Once again, it’s time for the weekly journaling prompt...

Today, it’s time to look in your mailbox. Use SOMETHING from the mail...doesn’t have to be a Christmas card, but it does have to be holiday-ish. Whether it be a catalog, a promotional brochure or a sales ad, use it on your page. What does it make you think of? Journal about it. OR, you can just journal about how the holidays are treating you so far. Whatever works for you. You can use ANYTHING seasonal!

Here are my results:

The left side of the spread: The transparency I bound into the journal and is by Hambly...I used colored pencils, rubber stamps, a white Uniball Signo pen, and Tiara gel pens.

The right side of the spread: The photo is from a Qwest seasonal brochure. The “Pass the Cheer” piece is from a Starbucks cup wrapper (no, I didn’t find THAT in the mail, but it worked well on the page). The snowflakes are by Nunn Design, and I did use some Stickles, although they’re not showing up real well in the photo. Silver tab by 7 Gypsies...

(It’s funny about this photo. When I saw it, I thought of a book cover I designed a couple of years ago):

This little gem is available on Amazon...Fun for the whole family. I loved designing this cover...found the photo myself and it worked REALLY well!

Have fun with this prompt and MAKE IT YOUR OWN!
