{One Image, One Page}

Hi there! Welcome to Art Journal Fridays!

Today, I want you to find one large image that will fit on your page with some room to spare. It can come from a magazine, junk mail, your family photos, anything. The rest of your page will be gleaned from this image. What does it make you think of, i.e., words, phrases, colors? Try to journal your stream of thought while looking at this image on your page. For example, this is my page in progress:

Since it was a sign that says “Do Not Overpay”, of course I started thinking about money, which led to the phrase “Money is the root of all evil”, and also “Don’t take a slice of my pie”, which is a Pink Floyd line. The flourishes and swirls are kind of what money can do to us, make us spin all over and out of control. I also started doodling numbers, money signs, etc. All along one of the lines are arrows as “greater than” and “less than” signs. Hmmm...last week’s prompt involved $. I guess I have it on the brain lately... :-)

I still want to fill in more color. I will show this page again when it’s finished...

Have fun with it and make it your own!

And have a great Friday!
