Tuesday Link Love
First up, a link to The Sharpie Blog. Even though I’m not a huge Sharpie user, I am completely in awe of what people are doing with them on this blog! So incredible...especially the custom walls. If our walls were smooth, there would be some SERIOUS doodling as interior decor going on! A girl can dream...
Next, a link to The Argyle Academy (art by Mike Lowery). He recently went to Japan and recorded what he experienced there...
Also, I’ve gotten a couple questions I want to address on the UK journal, so I thought I’d try to answer them for you in this post.
Once I put a journal together for a trip, I like to prep the pages...that is, I throw down paint, some photos, stencils, etc. I do backgrounds so that when I’m on the trip, I don’t have to do any painting, any MESSY stuff. This allows me to take pens and pencils, scissors, some Tombo Mono Adhesive, which ROCKS, and a few extra photos and bits and pieces to use while traveling. AS MINIMAL AS POSSIBLE. I HATE to take a lot of stuff...And even what I take seems like too much. I like to gather as much ephemera as I can while on the trip so that I can add that to my pages along with writing and doodling. All of the photos of London that I included on these pages were taken on a previous trip.
Some of you have commented that you didn't get to sign up for The Art Journal Stimulus Project. No worries! I will be holding it again in Oct. Details soon!
That’s all for today! Check out the links above and get inspired!
