An Interview and Anxiety
Recently, Ricë Freeman-Zachery interviewed me for her podcast, “Notes from the Voodoo Lounge”. I am honored she let me babble on about Doodle Diary and my book to be published next year. Find it here!
Also, today ended up being an anxious one. I tried to help a stray dog this morning, who was jumping in and out of heavy traffic on a street near my neighborhood. After MANY people got out of their cars to try and coax him to safety, a frantic call by me to 9-1-1, and a sweet man who worked at the tire shop across the street following the dog for about a mile, we lost sight of the dog. I drove around several times in the area to find the dog and even was able to talk directly with a police officer and animal control officer who looked for the dog themselves... Unfortunately, I never did find out what happened to the sweet little animal who was just too scared to trust anyone. I REALLY hope he/she is OK and under a safe roof tonight. I’m saying a prayer.
Sometimes when I really start to question humanity, something like this happens that allows me to restore some faith in it again. Bless those who tried to help.
I am just sick over this poor dog. Now this morning after finding flyers around my ’hood about the dog, I went out driving around, looking to see if I could find her. No luck. Her name is Squirrel. I’m debating over whether to call the people looking for her to tell them I saw her yesterday, but would it really do any good?
I did call the family and the guy was really nice. Seemed appreciative that I really tried! He said they went to animal control last night but was told it hadn’t been long enough, to come back today.
WOOO-HOOOO!!! Squirrel has been found! Her owner called me because he figured I would want to know, which I thought was incredible of him, because I DID! SO relieved!!!!
