Even though I’ve been working in my journal a little differently sometimes, I still turn back to my Pages in Stages approach for many of my pages. I love being able to just paint a ton of pages at once, collage a bunch of pages, or write and doodle wherever I want. If you haven’t been aware, I’ve been writing a series of articles for Cloth Paper Scissors magazine called Art Journaling Pages in Stages that goes over this very approach. There is also a workshop DVD of the same name that I shot back in May for Interweave. It will be available July 21.
Here are three spreads I just painted this afternoon:
My typical palette (above).
The spread above is Avocado Dip, Salmon, Butter, Sand, and a little Cocoa (Americana). YUM!
This spread makes me think of the Carribean. I am LOVING that Salmon color right now.
I just really felt that urge to paint today. So I went with it.
Don’t forget to grab your copy of Doodle Diary, now available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble.com, and hopefully in bookstores everywhere. You can also buy a signed copy from me here.
