I missed Art Journal Fridays last week, but not really. It was a holiday weekend, and I just didn’t prepare anything. My apologies to those of you who come here every Friday to find a little art journaling inspiration!

This week, since I’ve been concentrating on promoting Doodle Camp so much, I want to throw out an idea of something for you to do in your art journal. Really, it’s one word:

Yeah, I know. You’re not surprised. And you shouldn’t be. Doodling is my favorite thing to do in my art journals. Doodling over the whole page as a final layer really brings the page together and makes it YOURS. No one else doodles hearts, stars, and flowers like you. You’re adding your personal touch to that page. Doodling can include words, shapes, scribbles, and outlines of lines in photos, patterned papers, and even paint.

So grab that pen and doodle in your journal today. Happy AJF!
