The next workshop I’m teaching in Irvine is:
Doodle Camp (6-Hour)
Date: Thursday, May 31
This wildly popular online class is now live…a retreat within a retreat! Welcome to Doodle Camp, where we’ll make a tape-bound journal to fill with our doodles and memories. You’ll learn various background techniques to make your pages doodle-worthy and spend time filling up your journals with doodley juiciness. Don’t worry—we won’t go home without sitting around the campfire at least once!
Students Should Bring: A flattened cardboard box, such as a cereal box (no corrugated cardboard), a large brown cardboard mailer will work too, scrap paper to use for pages in your journal (think old ledger paper, notebook paper, graph paper, scrapbook paper, large envelopes, paper grocery bags), a couple pieces of watercolor paper (no larger than 8 ½ x 11), masking tape, pretty tapes (if you have), collage fodder, scissors, glue stick or roller adhesive such as Tombow Mono, a set of Crayola washable markers, a set of watercolors (Crayola are just fine!), watercolor pencils, pens for black ink work, such as Microns, gel pens, Soufflé pens, other pens and markers you like to doodle with, small spray bottle, an Aquaflo brush, Exacto knife and ruler.
